Joys of the New Year
Forget
the Old Year's sorrow
Forget its lonely days,
Forget its toils and hardships,
its dark and weary ways;
Brood not over blighted prospects,
Over hours with sadness rife--
Look forward to the New Year,
With its hope, its cheer, its
life!

shall I spend this New Year?

A stepping stone toward Heaven;
Reach out thy hand in blessing
To suffering ones below;

and cause the heart to glow!
